OCTG Inspector

The inspector performs inspection of Oil Country Tubular Goods including drill pipe, tubing, casing, pup joints, and connections. Work involves visual inspection and specialized non-destructive testing techniques including magnetic particle testing (MT), electromagnetic inspection (EMI), ultrasonic testing (UT), and thread gauging. The role ensures compliance with API RP 5A5, API 5CT, DS-1 standards and client requirements through dimensional checks, thread inspection, grade verification, and detection of defects such as pitting, cuts, cracks, and corrosion.

Responsibilities include

• Conducting inspection of tubular goods using MT, UT, EMI, and thread gauging techniques
• Preparing accurate inspection reports and tagging materials
• Communicating inspection results to client representatives
• Ensuring safe handling of tubulars and compliance with safety rules
• Minimum 8-10 years OCTG inspection experience
• Knowledge of API RP 5A5, API 5CT, API 7G, and DS-1 inspection criteria
• Ability to identify mechanical damage, corrosion, cracks, and thread defects
• Strong report-writing skills and basic computer literacy
• Ability to work in yard, rig site, or workshop environments
• Physical fitness for handling tubular movements and long standing hours
