Blaster

The Blaster plans, loads and detonates blasts at the mine. Work starts with designing blast patterns based on geological conditions and what production needs. Before any blast, the Blaster inspects the site and identifies hazards. Loading and firing charges falls to this role, along with documenting results. The Blaster keeps records on explosive inventory and use, works with quarry managers and safety staff, and maintains all blasting gear. Enforcing safety rules on the blasting crew is part of the job.

Requirements

• Certified Blaster's License
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blast design software
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in quarry blasting or similar heavy industrial environment
• Physically and mentally fit
