About the Role
The EX Inspector inspects, maintains, and repairs explosion-proof electrical and instrumentation equipment on offshore vessels. They coordinate EX activities, manage third-party inspection teams, and run the onboard EX Electronic Management System. They serve as the Unit EX Responsible Person, oversee the EX Equipment Register and Certificate Database, and mentor core crew on technical matters.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Electrical and/or Instrumentation Maintenance Engineering
- 5 years' experience in electrical inspection and repair within Oil & Gas environments (offshore, petrochemical, or refinery preferred)
- COMPE-EX certification
- Working knowledge of Permit-To-Work systems and electrical standards (IEC 60079, NEC 500/505, API RP14FZ)
- English language proficiency (CEFR A2 minimum)
- Medical fitness for offshore work
